The ART of MAINTAINING
The ART of MAINTAINING
It all started with an eye-to-eye contact,
Our hearts began whistling,
Our connection was through real souls,
Not from the so-called social media friend requests.
I first saw him at the fair —
And that’s when our life's journey began.
My heart started beating faster,
Whispering, "He is the one."
Then we met at our junior college,
And our story ended with a happily ever after —
Exchanging vows in front of the Holy Altar,
Keeping Jesus at the center of our love.
It wasn’t easy to maintain our sacred bond.
Convincing our parents was a difficult task,
Met with resistance and uncertainty,
But love found its way through.
Soon, he left for work overseas —
No contact, nothing.
He sent me a mobile phone through his friend,
And I lied to my parents,
Saying I won it in a lucky draw.
Our journey continued,
Blessed with the arrival of our beautiful daughter,
A symbol of the love and strength.
Is not at all easy to maintain a long-distance relationship.
One has to go through storms
To conquer the empire of the kingdom of love.
