My eyes are searching for you
My Eyes Are Searching for You
For years now,
you haven’t appeared—
not in my dreams,
nor in reality.
Those wet eyes have dried up;
it feels like a drought of love in my heart.
They’re tired—
waiting endlessly for your face to appear.
All my waiting has gone unnoticed by you.
Forget social media—
not even in reality do you appear.
Before these eyelids close forever,
please, show yourself once—
to this tired soul,
these tired eyes,
this tired heart,
and this tired mind.
Why did you play mind games with my eyes?
They waited so long,
but you betrayed them.
Their last wish is simple:
appear just once,
so they may close in peace.
My eyes search for you
in every face that crosses my path.
Sometimes, I feel your presence
at railway stations—
amidst thousands,
yet you're nowhere—
not on any platform,
not on any bridge.
As soon as I open my socials,
I check your “last seen”—
just to feel your presence
for a moment.
Desperately,
my eyes are still searching for you.
