Construction Site Labourers
Construction Site Labourers
Have you ever been to a construction site?
Yes! There's one right next to my home.
I’ve been watching them for a month now—
The way they work truly touched my heart.
But I’m clueless... what can I do for them?
It’s not easy, working under the hot, blazing sun.
I felt genuinely sad for them all.
They even bring their small babies along—
Because there's no one at home to care for them.
My mum said,
“They earn their daily bread like this.”
And I thought—yes, that’s true.
Those tiny children, playing in the mud,
Running, jumping over bricks...
They made my day.
They were happy,
With whatever little they had—
Chips and biscuits in their tiny hands,
Smiling, munching with joy.
As the sun sets,
They get ready to return to their homes.
I told my mum,
“They don’t need sleeping pills—
Their hard work puts them to sleep.”
Sometimes, we complain to God—
About what we don’t have,
About the life we wish for.
But just look at them—
How happy they are...
With so little, yet so much.
